I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with over 14 years of experience supporting youth, adults, and families facing mental health challenges and significant life transitions. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Social Sciences with a specialization in Criminology from the University of Ottawa.
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioural challenges, justice involvement, substance use concerns, and major life transitions. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals in crisis, helping people navigate periods of intense emotional distress while fostering safety, stability, and hope.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that people are the experts in their own lives. I tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs, recognizing that our experiences, relationships, and environments all influence our well-being.
I integrate Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills into individual therapy to help clients build practical strategies for managing intense emotions, coping with distress, improving relationships, and creating meaningful, lasting change. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, facing a difficult transition, or wanting to strengthen your coping skills, I strive to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel understood and empowered to move toward the life you want.
Our work together begins with an assessment in the first session. This focuses on understanding what is currently going on for you and developing a fuller picture of your life, including your strengths, coping skills, resources, supports, relationships, and what is important to you. This helps me get to know you and better support our work together moving forward. Early in our work, we also collaborate to identify and agree on therapeutic goals that reflect your needs and values.
